Osagie Ehanire also said that this disease had become an epidemic in the Oyi-Obi community on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

As a result of the outbreak, reportedly 15 people have been declared dead and 104 others have tested positive for the disease.

The first victims of this disease were Happiness Ogbu, Onah Obedu, Wisdom Agwo, and Andy Edu, all of whom died after 48 hours of contact with the disease.
