6 Hotspots Appear in Riau, Spread in this Region

PEKANBARU - The existence of hotspots re-emerged in a number of areas of Riau Province. The Pekanbaru Station's Climatology and Geophysics Meteorology Agency (BMKG) predicts that parts of Riau have now entered the dry season which makes the land dry and flammable.

Based on the monitoring of Terra and Aqua satellites owned by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of Pekanbaru Station. A total of 11 hotspots were detected on the island of Sumatra, 6 of which are scattered in the Riau region.

"Hotspots update on Monday (2/24/2020) at 06.00 WIB detected 11 points on the island of Sumatra," said BMKG Pekanbaru Prakirawan, Yasir Prayuna STr via WhatsApp electronic message, on Monday (2/24/2020).

Yasir further conveyed that the distribution of hotspots is in three provinces, namely North Sumatra (North Sumatra) 4, South Sumatra (South Sumatra) 1 and most are in Riau Province, which is 6 hotspots.

"Two points were observed in Rupat District, Bengkalis, 3 in Tebingtinggi, Meranti Islands and in Kuala Kampar, Pelalawan 1 hot spot," he said.

However, Prayuna said that at a level of confidence above 70 percent in Riau there were only 3 hotspots namely 1 in Rupat, Bengkalis and 2 in the Meranti Islands namely in Tebingtinggi sub-district. (R24 / put)
