Adviser and Trustee of the Golkar Pekanbaru party Erizal Muluk supports the move of Riau Governor Syamsuar to advance as a candidate for chairman of the Golkar DPD I in the Golkar Riau Regional Consultation which will be held on March 1-2, 2020.

Erizal said that the reason he supported was because he considered the former Siak regent as an experienced figure in leading the Riau Golkar Party in the future.

"I am frankly speaking when the Andi Rachman Golkar party in the 2019 election was less successful. First he failed to become a governor, even though the incumbent and chairman of Riau Golkar prov, Golkar votes everywhere down, and that's a fact," Erizal told Riau24. com when asked the direction of its support. Therefore based on the existing experience as a militant cadre, Erizal chose to support Syamsuar to become the chair of Golkar's DPD I in the following period.

The matter of Syamsuar was dropped from Golkar because he became a PAN cadre because he was unable to get Golkar's recommendation to go ahead with the 2018 Riau Governror Election, the former Riau Council member said that this was a normal phenomenon in politics.

Syamsuar was not be given Golkar's recommendation to move forward at that time because the DPP gave recommendations to one candidate, so the DPP sided with Andi Rachman because Andi was the incumbent governor and chairman of the Riau Golkar DPD at that time," he explained.

And Syamsuar himself continued when it was also not forbidden to go forward and look for other boats besides Golkar to advance the Riau Governor election .

Erizal admitted that when Riau Governor Election advanced, Syamsuar chose PAN and several other parties to meet the candidates' requirements.

"The dismissal of Mr. Syamsuar by PAN does not mean Mr. Syamsuar is a cadre of PAN, it is different," he said.

Related to the 30 percent support requirement from the voting owner whether Syamsuar can be reached in order to advance Riau Golkar chairman candidate, Erizal Muluk said that it depends on Syamsuar how to lobby for the requirements to be met.

"In my opinion, it is easy for 30 percent to be achieved by Mr. Syamsuar, and I'm sure Siak, Pelalawan, support him plus Meranti and Bengkalis are finished," he concluded.

Previously, the Chair of the Golkar Party Election (PP) of the Riau and Riau Islands region, Idris Leina, said that there were two candidates who would run as candidates for the head of the Riau Golkar 2020-2025 namely Andi Rachman and Syamsuar.
