News24xx.com - Planned holidays for millions of Britons are at risk after the number of coronavirus cases worldwide has risen.

British Airways has canceled dozens of flights to Milan due to falling demand and new cases in Spain, France, Croatia, Austria, and Switzerland fueling industry fears that people might choose not to go on vacation at all during Easter in April or avoiding foreign booking breaks in 2020 at all.

Experts worry that a European coronavirus outbreak could have a devastating effect on the tourism industry with airlines around the world facing £ 23 billion in losses due to the virus.

In Italy, the areas worst affected are Lombardy, which includes Milan, and Veneto, which includes Venice, and Emilia-Romagna.

The Foreign Office has suggested that all but important travel to 11 affected cities in the north of the country.

But tourists traveling to other Italian cities and nearby countries have expressed concern that if they cancel flights, they will not be entitled to a refund.

Refunds will only apply to those whose holidays are interrupted when the Foreign Office recommends that all but important travel.

Apart from the reduction in British Airways, other major airlines vowed to continue to fly to Italy and also Tenerife, which also suffered from a large virus outbreak.

A spokesman for BA said that they were trying to combine several flights between Heathrow and Linate airports "to match the reduced demand".
