The first claimed passenger ride in Indonesia was made by start-up from Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, Frogs Indonesia, tested at Gading Air Field, Playen, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, Saturday (7 March 2020).

During nearly 1.5 hours of preparation, the "taxi drone" was tested on the runway.

After eight engines spin, the drone is seen flying a few centimeters from the ground.

Some technicians had time to stop and check the drone after several attempts.

Cofundador de Frogs Indonesia Asro Nasiri said, this taxi drone is the second generation of the previous drone.

This drone is capable of carrying two people weighing 200 kilos.

"The name is Frogs 282, which means two passengers with eight engines, and is the second generation," Asro said when met at Gading Gading on Saturday

Research on the manufacture of these drones has been started since 2017.

"Trials cannot be high, they have to go through several processes," said Asro.

Official Principal de Tecnología (CTO) Dedi Satria Maulana said, the first stage of the drone's trial was to find a number of problems in the drone.

He said he was quite satisfied because after testing eight drone engines were able to work to lift the drone's body.

He said he would make improvements and immediately re-test.
