News24xx.com - Grab, an online transportation company is always working to improve its digital payment service in Indonesia. One of the steps taken is to recruit people believed to improve and give a new impetus in the company.

One of Grab's options is former Managing Director Line Indonesia, Ongki Kurniawan.

The certainty of his move to GrabPay has been known since early September, but Grab just issued its official statement on this matter.

"We are excited about Ongki's presence to develop GrabPay in Indonesia and accelerate financial inclusion for Indonesians. The Indonesian market is unique and extensive and requires expertise and we believe Ongki's experience will strengthen local management for the Indonesian team, "said Jason Thompson, Head of GrabPay, in a press release published by kumparan.com

He added, "Ongki's understanding of the Indonesian market will help us turn GrabPay into the most relevant and most used mobile payment platform in Indonesia."

Ongki Kurniawan serves as Managing Director of GrabPay in Indonesia. This appointment will assist GrabPay in building strong partnerships across ecosystems, accelerating Kudo's integration with Grab, and continuing to expand Kudo's online marketplace and its small business partners.

At Grab, Ongki will work with 150 local technicians at the company's research and development center, as well as partner networks to build payment solutions for Indonesian consumers and SMEs.

"I have the same enthusiasm as Grab in helping Indonesians benefit from the digital economy through innovations created in Indonesia. GrabPay's vision to bring the entire society into the digital economy, from the middle class to small businesses across Indonesia is one way to help realize Indonesia's goal of becoming the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia, and I hope to be part of the journey, Ongki Kurniawan said.
