News24xx.com - About 70,000 pregnant and lactating mothers are among the Rohingya refugees and entering the country after fleeing violence in Myanmar in the past three weeks.

The government of Bangladesh declared Sept. 18, 2017 through Information Minister Hasanul Haq said that the large number of newcomers living in the camp were prospective mothers or mothers who had just given birth.

"Special treatment has been done for 70,000 pregnant and lactating women," Haq told reporters, quoted from among.

Based on United Nation (UN) data that as many as 415,000 civilians from the Rohingya Muslim minority have arrived in Bangladesh since August 25, flooding refugee camps near the border that are not ready for sudden arrival of refugees.

The majority of refugees who make the crossings are women and children, with some relief agencies warning of an ongoing humanitarian crisis as authorities have difficulty providing basic facilities for desperate civilians.

The UN warns of intolerable conditions in camps around the border town of Cox's Bazar.
