A Doctor's Husband Shot Dead 5 of His Neighbors Because of Noise During Lockdown

A man shoots dead 5 people for making noise outside during a coronavirus locking in Russia, police said.

Anton Franchikov, 31, scolded a group of people from his balcony before taking a hunting rifle and opening fire.

Seketikan, four men and one woman were killed when they entered his apartment block, police said. The woman who was shot, reportedly, was pregnant.

Local officials have linked mass shootings to the tension caused by the closure of public health.

"He [Franchikov] tried to escape, but he was unsuccessful, and was stopped by the police," said a law enforcement spokesman.

Head of local administration Grigory Danilov toll RT: 'This is a conflict between neighbors which developed into shooting.

"The second week of quarantine has a negative impact on people's psychology. "People miss communication."

One of the authorities added: 'I cannot say that he is a fool or sick. I know that he is a married man, he has children.

"They are just ordinary young families."

His wife Svetlana, 27, a general practitioner based at the local hospital, was interrogated for the incident by the Russian Investigation Committee.

The wife was in the bathroom during the massacre and did not know about the incident, he said.

Investigators are examining claims that the suspect has a history of domestic violence and posting extreme material on social media.
