Not Enough Just Stay at Home, Residents Asked the Regent to Close the Entrance to Inhil

Inhil-Residents of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), Riau are increasingly troubled by the continued increase in the number of People Under Supervision (ODP).

Although there have been no cases of patients who have confirmed positive corona through swab tests, the community asked the Regent of Inhil, HM Wardan, to immediately take action to temporarily close the sea and land routes.

"It seems useless at home, but migrants from outside can still enter. Although checked body temperature, but it was not effective, because many cases were infected but showed no symptoms", said one resident.

The community also requested that the Inhil regency move quickly so that residents in Inhil could freely move out of the house and earn a fortune as usual.

"Now the situation is we can't work, especially the coffee shop. How can we not provide chairs and tables? We can't help but close it. It's useless for us to do this, but those from outside Inhil can still enter," he continued.

In line with that, Deputy Chairman of Commission III Inhil DPRD, Edi Sindrang also added that it would not be successful in handling COVID-19 in Inhil if the entrance to the sea and land was not maintained in a substantial manner.

"We need to understand that Inhil has a lot of rat (illegal) harbor and borders with the Riau Islands. What we are very worried about is that migrants enter through Inhil. Indeed, TKIs are our citizens, we do not accuse them of carrying viruses," said the Group of Workers' Politicians.
