News24xx.com -  Doctors of the Federal Biomedical Agency faced an atypical course of coronavirus infection - two patients had serous peritonitis, the FMBA press service said.

Two patients with an atypical course of COVID-19 were admitted to the medical institutions of the FMBA of Russia, reprofiled to receive coronavirus patients, during the treatment they developed negative dynamics in the form of an “acute abdomen” and an increase in body temperature. The patients underwent diagnostic laparoscopy, as a result of which the presence of fluid in the abdominal cavity was revealed, the press service explained.

According to the results of examinations of two patients, a new version of COVID-19, which proceeds with the clinical picture of serous peritonitis, can be suggested, "the report said.
Probably, such inflammation can occur as a result of a systemic response to a viral infection, suggested in FMBA.
