The Unites States make an action to demolishing their chemical weapon

News24xx.com -  United States (U.S) started to destroy chemical weapons stockpiles of the old hers from the World War II era.

This chemical weapons is abandoned in Panama since several decades ago.

"The operation began in mid-September 2017 to destroy chemical munitions located on San Jose Island (Panama)," stated Legal Affairs Director at the US Foreign Ministry, Farah Urrutia, in her statement as reported by AFP, on Friday, September 29 2017.

URRUTIA said, US specialists working closely with partners in Panama to perform the operation for the destruction of chemical weapons was.

The US is known to have military bases in Panama since Panama Canal was completed in 1914, until US troops pulled back in 1999.

During the years, the US and Panama discussed the terms of what would be done to the stocks of chemical weapons. The cleaning operation was originally scheduled to start in 2013, but never started because the US failed to provide funds for the operation.

In her statement, Urrutiadeclared OPCW has registered the initial report that confirms the destruction of four of the eight US–owned chemical bombs.

Urrutia added there was no indication the health hazards were detected among citizens as well as the environment of the island.
