Getting punishment from her father, a little girl left outside at 3am and died

News24xx.com - Sherin Mathews, 3, disappeared when her dad, Wesley Mathews, 37, ordered her to stand next to a tree behind the fence at their home in a Dallas Suburb earlier this month. And her body has been found in the hunt for a missing toddler who vanished from her home when her father left her outside at 3am as punishment.

Her father told police he was punishing her for not drinking her milk and has been charged with child endangerment.

Her body was found close to the family home and police say it hasn’t been positively identified but they have no reason to believe it is a different child. No details have been released on how the child died.

Mathews told police that he left his daughter by the tree for around 15 minutes before her returned.

That was when he noticed that she had gone missing, however he did not contact police until 8am, five hours after she is said to have vanished, according to Sergeant Kevin Perlich.

He told officers that he was doing laundry while waiting for daylight or for Sherin, who had been adopted from an orphanage in India to return by herself.

Sherin’s adoptive mother was asleep at the time and does not face any charges. Another child, 4, has been placed in foster care.
