Residents of Pekanbaru are shock with findings of carrion flower

News24xx.com - A carrion flower is found and growing at Payung Sekaki street Pekanbaru Riau on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. That flower grow at the yard of a resident.

The presence of that carrion flower, gives of bad smell, and invites the attention of local residents.


The rare flower that have named in Latin Amorphopallus Campanulatus has a height of 90 cm with a diameter of 60 cm. This flower grows and rises upward with a conical top.

This flower was discovered by the owner of that house, Ramiah while crossing his yard on Monday, November 20 2017 night.

"Previously, this flower has never grown here, this is the first time. And according to my neighbor here, the flower is called as carrion flower," Ramiah said.


The presence of carrion flower which is a rare flower raise the attention of local residents. Even, other residents who know about that flower through social media, comes and take some photos of the carrion flower.

"I am so proud to see this rare flower directly, because it has never been in Pekanbaru before." said a resident named Sari.

This carrion flower can reach up to 4 meters high with a diameter of 1.5 meters, Usually this flower lives in the forests of Sumatra.
