Bad tires condition could make you get fined from Ministry of Transportation

News24xx.com -  Tires are the most important component in the car, because it directly related to the road. So, the condition of tires must be diligent to checked by the driver. This is done to minimize the potential for accidents because the condition is thinning.

in Indonesia, there are rules that regulate the thickness of tire. The rules was set in Government Regulation (PP) No.5 of 2012 Article 73 ie tires must be replaced if the depth has reached 1 millimeter.

"The tire condition is an important driving safety factor. Nevertheless, the maximum depth of the tire groove should not be less than 1 millimeter. Replace the tyre immediately when touching the depth of 1 millimeter, so that the tire can still grip the asphalt in various weather conditions," a statement from Instagram account of the Ministry of Transportation.

When entering the rainy season, the rubber tires are getting thinner and could be one of the factors of the accident.

"Especially when it rain, it will forces peforma of tires to work more harder," continued the account.

If you may violating the rules, you may be subject to Article 285 paragraph (1) LAJ Act with a maximum imprisonment of one month or with a maximum of IDR 250 thousand.

"Any person who drives Motorcycles on the road that do not meet the technical and roadworthy requirements that include the rearview mirror, horn, headlights, brake lights, direction lights, reflective devices, speed gauges, exhaust, and tire groove depth as intended in Article 106 paragraph (3) juncto Article 48 paragraph (2) and paragraph (3) shall be sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of 1 (one) month or a maximum fine of IDR 250 thousand (two hundred and fifty thousand rupiah)".
