Judiciary in Luxemburg denied an appeal request of NAZI treasurers

News24xx.com -  The judiciary in Lüneburg rejected the appeal request of Oskar Gröning's 96-year-old, a former treasurer of NAZI who was sentenced to four years in prison.

He must now serve his sentence. Oskar Groening was sentenced to four years in prison for taking responsibility for the deaths of 300,000 people at the Nazi concentration camp in Auschwitz.

Last December, the German Constitutional Court rejected his appeal. It's means that all legal efforts for Oskar Groening have been passed. Previously, his lawyers had failed with appeals in the Lüneburg Court and in the High Court of Celle.

The lawyer's last step to avoid a prison sentence for his client is a plea for forgiveness on the grounds of an advanced age.

But the Lüneburg Court on Wednesday, Januari 17 2018 states, the request for forgiveness for health reasons also rejected.

A spokesman for the Lüneburg Wiebke Bethe Prosecutor said Gröning could still object to the refusal to the high prosecutor's office in Hannover according to the laws of the Niedersachsen State.

"If there is a change in his health condition, he can at any time to apply his forgiveness again," said Wiebke Bethe.

Oskar Groening has served in the bookkeeping and finance section of NAZI's largest concentration camp in Ausschwitz, now located in Poland. He have duty to seized money and jewelry from the Nazi prisoners to be registered and sent to Berlin.

Oskar Groening's court process was touted as the final court process relating to the Holocaust, the mass murder of Hitler's Nazi regime against Jews.

Prosecutors in the court said that Oskar Gröning did not kill anyone with his own hands while working in the Ausschwitz concentration camp, but he was still responsible for the deaths of 300,000 people.
