The airline and airport authorities in Kathmandu have blamed each other aftera a deadly crash in Nepal

News24xx.com -  A Bangladeshi airline reported on Tuesday that its two pilots aboard an aircraft that crashed in Nepal, killing 49 people, both received special training for landing at Kathmandu airport and had successfully handled previous flights.

The airline and airport authorities in Kathmandu have blamed each other of the disaster that occurred on Monday, the Himalayan nation is the worst, since the 1992 crash of a Pakistan International Airlines aircraft killed 167 people.

Flight operator US-Bagla Airlines said it was too early to blame anyone after a transcript of the radio conversation of pilots with ground control in Kathmandu revealed confusion over the designated runway.

Captain Abid Sultan and co-pilot Prithul Rashid died when their plane crashed right on the runway, broke into pieces and caught fire.


Investigators have  retrieved the flight data recorder from the debris, said Raj Kumar Chettri, general manager of the airport, and an investigation  had begun into the cause of the crash.
