Flash flood in Bandung washed away 17 car

News24xx.com -  On Tuesday, March 20 2018, flash flood happened to Cicaheum area, Bandung. As many as 17 cars that were parked in a garage were damaged and washed away.


One of the owners of the cars, Asep Hidayat said that he had to accept what had happened to his Honda Jazz vehicle. He said, it all happened so suddenly.


“Usually, the flood is not this severe, but this was like a deluge, so big, and it was muddy too,” he said.


Asep said that during the flood he was inside the house which located right behind the garage where the cars were parked. Not long, the walls of the garage were broken down and water with mud started flooding the settlement.


“I evacuated the people and things inside the house right away. When it was all done, I went straight to the garage and found that my car was piled along with other cars,” he said. Not only piled, some of the cars were even washed away from the garage by the flood. The road to the settlement was blocked with thick mud with 50 cm thickness.


Meanwhile, a member of Firefighter Rescue team of Bandung, Totoy Yuhasmana said that he smelled gasoline during the investigation of the cars location. The team then quickly told the civilians not to light any fire. “When I went there, I smelled gasoline. We quickly told the people around the area not to smoke around the location,” he said.
