Apparently, this deadly tree used as ornamental plants in Indonesia

News24xx.com -  One of the important elements of ecosystems on earth is plants. In addition to functioning for food, plants also serves to stabilize the air. But apparently, plants can cause of death.

1. Strychnine tree
The seed of this plants also contain toxins and can cause of death. The symptoms of this poison are very horrible and painful, starting from trembling, strong convulsions, foaming of mouth, loss of consciousness, until finally died.

In addition, other side effects such as sore eyes, dizziness, muscle cramps, paralysis and the tongue are numb. Although notoriously contain of toxic, this plant have useful for medical purposes in treating cancer.

The terrible evidence of this poison is shown in the story of Queen Cleopatra who asked her subordinates to commit suicide by eating the seeds of the Strychnine tree.

2. Gympie-Gympie
This plant can grow as high as 1 - 2 meters and is commonly found in areas of rain forests east of Australia and Maluku, Indonesia.

The stings of Gympie-Gympie are known to kill dogs, horses and humans. You can feel the extraordinary pain that lasts for several months and will repeats over the years.

Miraculously, the dry specimens of this plant can cause pain  although it picking a hundred years ago. And any part of the Gympie-Gympie can be deadly.

If you touch this plant, its fine hairs will penetrate your body and release toxins that called moroidin.  

3. Manchineel tree
This deadly tree originated in the Caribbean, and can also be found in tropical regions such as southern North America, Central America, the Caribbean and northern South America.

The sap of this tree contains of toxins thought to be derived from phorbol, an organic compound that can be very soluble in water. Even if you shelter under this tree when it rains, raindrops that carry of tree sap can burn your skin. As a result, the skin can be blister.

Not only that, the fruit was not to be consumed, although the aroma is fragrant. Manchineel fruit looks similar to green apples.

This fruit contains of carcinogenic chemical compound that can cause a burning throat and shortness of breath.

In Spain, this tree is dubbed arbol de la muerte, or it means the tree of death. According to Guinness World Records, the Manchineel tree is the most dangerous tree in the world. As described by the Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, all parts of Manchineel are highly of poisonous and potentially deadly.

If someone is exposed to smoke from burned Manchineel wood, their eyes can be painful and have chronic infections, even the permanent blindness.

4. Tree of suicide
This tree come from India and South Asia region. Generally, this tree grown in swamps near the coast, but there are also that make ornamental plants. 

Cerbera odollam is a plant species in the Apocynaceae family and is commonly known as the Suicide Tree, Pong-pong, and othalanga. .

This plant can to produces powerful poison that can be used for suicide and killing. When consumed the fruit, leaves, sap and seeds, it's will cause heart problems that lead you to death.

The content of cerberin and glycosides in the seeds of the fruit makes the heart's performance becomes chaotic. The suicide tree is used to kill,  because the content of poison is very difficult to trace, even if the coronary expert perform an autopsy to the victim.
