This automotive company with tuning fork symbol will develop three-wheeled motorcycle

News24xx.com -  Yamaha will introduce its newest unit at the Motorcycle Show event in Milan on November 2018 named Niken. 


This step takes by Yamaha to succeeding its patents under the trademark of TY-E and as electrically-fueled motor.


The president and CEO of Yamaha, Yoshihiro Hidaka said his company is working on various initiatives with the theme of the global mobility world that is evolving in the current time.

"This is a product line of LMW based on multi wheel, ranging from scooter to sport. This is to continuing our activities at Tokyo Motor Show, which at that moment we success to introduced of Tricity, but now, we will have Niken in the future" he said.


With MT-09 chassis embedding, the three-wheeled motor would merging an aggressive bike design with a pair of front wheels. Both front wheels can move independently and each front wheel sets with a pair of suspensions.


"This is a large-engined leaning multi-wheeler (LMW), which exploit the effects of road change and also provide high stability when turning" he explained.

Looks to the dimensional system, this motor has a length of 2150 mm, width 885 mm, and height of 1250 mm. And the engine parts are three-cylinder inline, 4-stroke, DOHC, plus liquid cooling with crossplane technology.


The name of Niken its means to merging of two Japanese languages. Ni means two, and Ken is a sword.
