Turkey persuaded Russia to accelerate the supply of S-400

News24xx.com -  The beginning of deliveries of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM systems) S-400 named Triumph to Turkey will accelerate.  This was reported in his Twitter deputy head of the secretariat of the Turkish defense industrial Ismail Demir.

"The date of the start of the delivery of the S-400 SAM in the framework of the agreement signed with Russia was postponed to July 2019," the official wrote after the meeting of the Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council of the highest level (SRO).

In September 2017, it became known that Moscow and Ankara had signed an agreement on the delivery of S-400 systems to Turkey. The contract provides for the sale to Ankara four divisions, staffed by these systems. The cost of the agreement is 2.5 billion dollars, more than half of the amount will cover the Russian loan.

The assistant to the president of Russia on military-technical cooperation Vladimir Kozhin said that deliveries will begin in 2020.

The Americans reacted with the threat of Ankara to block the salevof F-35 fighters of fifth-generation due to the acquisition of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems from Russia. This was told in an interview to Hurriyet by the head of the Turkish parliamentary commission for international affairs Volkan Bozkyr after his visit to the United States.

In March of this year, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ankara will use the S-400 only for its own defense. 

Prior to that, he reported that they needed Turkey urgently because of the country's lack of an air defense system.
