A couple of teen married after get approval from the Religious Courts in South Sulawesi

News24xx.com -  Early marriage is one thing that not allowed in Indonesia, because in addition to violating the norm, early marriage is also have a risk of health.


But a couple who are still sitting in second grade of junior high school in Bantaeng District, South Sulawesi decided to get married. The reason for their marriage does not make a sense, because the fear of sleeping alone at home.

It is known that the mother of the bride has died a year ago. While his father always left the house out of the District to work.


As quoted from Kompas.com, Public Relation Officer of Bantaeng Regency Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mahdi Bakri said the couple come to Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) District Bantaeng to follow the Marriage Guidance on Thursday, April 12, 2018.


However, both of them were rejected by the head of the government and the Office of Religious Affairs because the couple did not meet the requirements for marriage. Because, the age of the newly groom still 15 years and 10 months and the bride is still 14 years and 9 months.


However, their wish to married became true after they filing a lawsuit to the Religious Court of Bantaeng District and received a dispensation. 

Mahdi explained, without a verdict from the Religious Courts and received a dispensation, the headman of KUA not marry off two children who are not old enough according to rules and marriage laws.

"In the beginning, the headman of Bantaeng refused to marry both of them, because they did not meet the requirements, but both of them filed a lawsuit to the Religious Courts and received a dispensation, which was finally officially married them, because there was a verdict from the Religious Courts," he said.
