Finland approves the construction of the North Stream - 2

News24xx.com -  Southern Finland Regional Management Agency issued the necessary permits for the construction of Russian gas pipelines through Republican Territory. It's means that Nord Stream 2 received a full set of permissions in Suomi. 

The announcement was released in a press release on April 12 2018.


"In accordance with the law on water use in Finland, the agency issued a permit for the construction of Nord Stream - 2 in the Finnish economic zone," the government said.


The goverment of Finland has issued a second license for the construction and operation of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.  


Last week, the Russian project received its first conditional permit in Finland.


The Nord Stream-2 project involves the construction of two gas pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany. 

The new pipe is planned to be built next to the Nord Stream.


The Nord Stream - 2 AG project is applied for the consideration of the Finnish government in September 2017. 

In Finland's exclusive economic zone will pass about 374 km of new gas pipeline, and the total length will reach about 1,220 km. 

In late March, Germany issued a permit for the construction of the Nord River.   

Butm  Latvia, Lithuania and Poland jointly to expressed their disagreement over the construction of Nord Stream-2. Their leader believes this is a political project.


They are not satisfied with the planned pipeline from the United States, because the US has ambitious intention to export their gas to Europe.
