More than 10 thousand Russians died because the acute alcohol poisoning

News24xx.com -  According to statistics, on this year more than 10 thousand Russians died from acute alcohol poisoning. 

As the Swedish edition named Expressen, half a million people died each year from alcohol-related health problems.

People not only died from acute poisoning, but the doctors report that much more people die from alcohol-related health problems - up to half a million people per year.

In recent years the Russian authorities have been trying to combat the widespread problem of alcoholism.

At the beginning of the year, it was announced that the number of drunkenness in Russia was on decline. But the new statistics of deaths from alcohol poisoning, to say that the number was very frightens. 

According to Rospotrebnadzor, in the first three quarters of this year 9,300 people died from alcohol poisoning. 

For this period 36 thousand people were registered with similar cases. However, the organization declares that from 2013 there is a steady tendency to reduce the number of such deaths.

Poisoning occurs primarily as a result of the consumption of ethanol, that is, ordinary alcohol. There are cases of drinking nonspecific alcohols, such as cologne, technical alcohol and antifreeze, more often people die and from methyl alcohol too.

Earlier, the Russian authorities presented even more terrible figures: Rospotrebnadzor reported that up to half a million Russians die of health problems every year, directly related to excessive of drunkenness.
