Government added three days for eid joint holidays in 2018

News24xx.com - The government officially added three more days to national holidays of Eid in 2018. The days added are June 11th, 12th and 20th 2018.

The decision is passed by joint certificate (SKB) by three ministers. It was signed by Religion Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Labor Minister Hanif Dhakiri, and Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) Asman Abnur in Ministry of Human and Cultural Development office.

“The SKB by three ministers is about the national holidays in order to celebrate Eid which Insya Allah, will happen on June 15th to 16th” said the Minister of Human and Cultural Development Puan Maharani in her office, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 18th 2018.

After the addition, then the total days of national holidays for Eid this year will be seven days. This was done so that civilians will have more time to spend with their family in celebrating Eid al-Fitr. “We hope that what is done now will benefit the civilians in order to meet with their families” Puan said.

The signing of that certificate was also witnessed by Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi. To sum it up, the holidays for Eid al-Fitr are:

1.       Monday to Thursday, June 11th – 15th 2018 (national holidays)

2.       Friday to Saturday, June 15th – 16th 2018 (Eid 1439 Hijriyah)

3.       Monday to Wednesday, June 18th – 20th 2018 (national holiday)
