A boy refused to leave her mom trapped alone in burning house

News24xx.com - Jin, 7 years old, ended up in a hospital due to serious burn because he refused to leave his mother when their home in Sanya, the southern area of China, was on fire. According to news agency Southern China Daily, the fire happened on March 30th early in the morning.

When the fire happened, Jin’s father, Jin Haitao had gone to work. The fire caused the things in the house to fell and trapped the mother. However, the boy refused to leave his mother behind and chose to stay with her.

It was not explained how they were saved, but Jin and his mother suffered serious burns and were brought to hospital. “I feel pain in my body and heart. I can’t protect my son” said the mother, Li Xiyin, in tears.

“He laid beside me and said that he would leave if I left as well. He wanted to protect me. Isn’t he a great child” Li said while crying.

Li’s condition had become stable, but Jin still had problem with his respiratory tract so he still had to be treated in ICU. Chen Xinlong, the director of burns and plastic surgery department in the hospital said, Jin was in a serious condition and in need of at least three operations when his condition became stable.

Jin’s family tried to raise funds to pay for the boy’s treatment. In only four hours, they were able to gain CNY 450.000 or equivalent to IDR 986 million.

“I don’t know what to say. My family is really thankful for those who gave donation to us” said Jin’s father. It was estimated that Jin’s treatment will cost CNY 500.000 or around IDR 1 billion. However, Doctor Chen warned that the cost could increase depending on Jin’s condition.
