News24xx.com - Do you ever have such a great dream that makes you do not want to wake up? Or perhaps you had such a terrible nightmare that makes your heart beated faster when you wake up?

Dream is not just an imagination or illusion, but it reflects the real life. What we see, hear or feel in the real world affect the dream we have during our sleep. There are 5 things that could affect what will your dreaming about:

1.     Magnetic Field

Who would have thought that the magnetic field produced by geomagnetic activities can affect our dreams? A study done by psychologist named Darren Lipnicki found that there was a connection between geomagnetic activities and the dreams people have after eight years of writing journal about dreams. When geomagnetic activities are low, the dreams will become stranger and weirder. Lipnicki’s study about magnetic field and dreams is published in Medical Hypotheses journal in 2009.

2.     Creativity

The increasing creativity of someone actually influences sexual dreams. Psychologist Ian Wallace, as cited from Daily Mail, also said that these dreams often appear to people who are 60 years old and above. Elderly people aged 60 and above often take up new activities and hobbies to spend their years in retirement. Wallace claimed that many of his clients have dreamed about sex. This does not describe their sex life, but their rising creativity.

3.     Sleeping position

A study on 670 adults in Hong Kong found that those who sleep on their stomach tend to have dreams that are more tense and clear. Those who sleep on their sides tend to have more positive dreams while people who sleep on their back tend to have nightmares. “Different sleeping positions create different pressures on various body parts, and what is felt by the body may become a source of dream elements” said the writer, Calvin Kai-Ching Yu.

4.     Food

There was a study in Canada on 200 students, which found that 20 percent of the participants found connection between their dreams and what they ate. This is because food affects our metabolism and mood. However, the study has to be done further to know the connection between food and dream.

5.     Media

The type of media we use actually affect our dreams. A study in England in 2008 revealed that people who watch black and white television tend to have dreams that are also in black and white.
