These four things should be avoided when riding an automatic motorcycle

1. Hold gas while pulling the brake lever

Ahmad said, if the transmission oil is not changed, will result in CVT house become noisy due to friction between components of transmission.

Transmission oil is quite cheap, ranging from IDR 10 thousand to IDR 15 thousand, with volume of 120 ml. It's also easy to recognize it by looking at the triangle-shaped packaging with a pointed tip.

3. Drive Belt left dirty

Just like chains, Drive belt which left dirty or rarely cleaned will result in a crust and causing a shorter lifespan of it.

"The existing crust on the drive belt comes from road dust or oil that seeps due to a leaky seal that goes into the CVT house which eventually mixes with the dust" said Ahmad.

"If you feel the symptoms of vibration, wasteful gasoline, and sound in the house CVT rough, must be taken for checking" he explained.

"If it is so, at least prepare IDR 800 thousand, IDR 650 thousand for the replacement of the entire CVT components, while the rest to replace spark plugs, engine oil, and transmission oil" said Ahmad.

4. not Changing spark plugs and air filters during routine service

"Generally consumers who do routine maintenance just ask for cleaning machine and change oil only without including replacement of spark plugs and filters which are not less important in maintaining engine performance" said Ahmad.

Whereas spark plugs and clean air filters will keep the tug of gas remain light or avoid the symptoms of heavy gas pull. Both of these components must be replaced on schedule.

"On the spark plug service book should be replaced on the usage of 8,000 km and air filters replaced when 14,000 km or if it looks dirty" said Ahmad.

He mentioned, the price of spark plug is quite affordable, range IDR 15-20 thousand, while the air filter charged for IDR 45 to 60 thousand.
