Anies said he not attend a meeting with the city administration's working units of Jakarta today

News24xx.com - Jakarta governor elect Anies Baswedan said he would not attend a meeting with the city administration's working units to address their visions, missions and programs slated for Friday.

City secretary Saefullah had invited him and deputy governor-elect Sandiaga Uno to attend the meeting to involve them in the introduction of the upcoming mid-term development plan (RPJMD) by the city's working units.

"My synchronization team will attend. Not me," Anies said as quoted by tempo.co on Thursday, referring to his transition team, which is headed by former energy and mineral resources minister Sudirman Said.

He said it was not the right time to meet his future staff. "It's too early," he said.

He said he was certain that his and Sandiaga's programs would be synchronized in the deliberation of the city's 2018 budget.

Separately, Saefullah said all the administration's working units had been invited to the meeting so they could hear from their future leaders directly about upcoming city programs.

"[Anies] is going to be the next leader of Jakarta so it would be best if he started meeting with city officials as soon as possible," he said.

It is not clear whether active governor of DKI Jakarta, Djarot Saiful Hidayat will attend the meeting, Saifullah added.
