A leopard was trapped under a stilt house in Sukabumi

News24xx.com - A leopard (Panthera pardus melas) was trapped under a stilt house in the settlement of PTPN VIII officials in Perbawati Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Thursday, May 17th 2018.

This incident was discovered by the owner of the house, Hendi, 53 year-old on Wednesday night, May 16th 2018. At around 11:30 p.m., Hendi heard a loud noise near the house. When he checked what happened, he found that it seemed his pet chicken was devoured by an animal.

“I look under the house, then I saw a leopard eating the chicken,” Hendi said to Kompas.com in Perbawati village, on Thursday.

After that, he told his neighbor about it. Just to make sure, he checked under his house once more.

“After eating before fasting, we told the other villagers about it,” he said.

The information about the leopard was gotten by Sukabumi Police. They sent some officers to the location. For safety sake, the police officers asked for all the people in the house to go out while they secured the place.

The police also coordinated with Great Hall for Natural Resource Conservation (BBKSDA) and Great Hall of Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park (TNGGP).
