This is the prayer that prophet recommends us to do

News24xx.com -  In Abu Hurairah hadith narrated by Imam Muslim, said the virtue of Abu Bakr RA who is a friend of Prophet Muhammad SAW. At that time Rasulullah SAW once asked his friend: Who among you who entered the morning in fasting state in this day? Abu Bakr replied, "I am." The Prophet replied: "Who among you has accompanied the body today?" "I am" Abu Bakr replied.

"The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) replied," Who among you is feeding the poor today? "Abu Bakr replied," I am. "The Messenger of Allah repeatedly asked," Who among you has help sick people today? "Abu Bakr replied , "I am"

So the Prophet (s) said, "It is not the whole thing gathered in a foe but he will go to heaven."

Later in another hadith the Prophet (s) said: "The one who sacrificed for me in wealth and friendship is Abu Bakr (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

It is narrated that Sayyidina Abu Bakr RA once asked for a prayer to the Prophet (s). "Yaa Rasulullah, teach me a prayer that I can said during my prayer".

So Prophet Muhammad SAW also replied, which means: O God, I have tyrannized myself with many tyranny. While no one can forgive sins except only you. So forgive me with a forgiveness from Your side, and grace me. You are the Forgiving, the Merciful. (Al-Bukhari-Muslim)

The virtue of istighfar has been described in the Qur'an, Allah Ta'ala says: "And he that doeth evil and persecuteth him, but then asketh forgiveness of Allah, He shall find that Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [QS An-Nisa ' : 110]

In the hadith of the Prophet, He said: "Whoever propagates istighfar, Allah will extend his distress, take him out of his tightness and give him fortune from the unexpected path" (Muslim)

The Prophet also said: Whoever wants to be happy when receiving his charity record, let him said more istighfar. (HR At-Thabrani)
