Russian scientists have developed a vaccine against drug addiction

News24xx.com -  Currently, Russian scientists are testing a vaccine that blocks the formation of addiction on opiate. 

Tatyana Klimenko, director of the National Research Center (NSC) of narcology, told to Izvestiya about that.

According to her, antibodies formed in the body using this vaccine block the effect of the drug. When creating the drug, antibodies derived from horse blood were used.

Tests on animals have shown that immunity persists throughout the year, writes the publication.

It is assumed, that in the future, scientists will create such remedy to protect from other psychoactive substances too.

If the tests will be successful, the vaccine can be injected to teenagers for prevention.
