Indonesian delegates visit Iraq for conference of world without ISIS

News24xx.com - A total of 7 Indonesian delegates went to Iraq for a conference hosted by the Iraqi Sunni Waqf Board. The group was led by Muchlis M Hanafi who represented Minister of Religion, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin.

In the forum Muchlis will present material about moderate Islam. One of the points that will be presented is the security of the world without the existence of the radical group ISIS.

"Through such a scientific forum, we can share experiences in developing and renewing a more dynamic, harmonious and humane religious discourse, and united, respecting diversity and respecting our differences will create a safer and more peaceful world without ISIS" Muchlis in a written statement, on Monday, June 25th 2018.

"All access to radical thinking must be sealed in. At the same time we must also move to promote moderate religious discourse" he added.

According to Muchlis, the Government of Indonesia has committed to supporting Iraq's rebuilding efforts, both in politics and the economy after the defeat of ISIS in the country. "We hope the future will be more intense, especially in developing moderate religious understanding" he said.

Besides of  Muchlis, 6 other Indonesian representatives are Muhyiddin Junaidi (MUI), Ikhwanul Kiram Masyhuri (Al Azhar Alumni), Saiful Mustafa (UIN Malang / NU), Fathir H Hambali (Alumni Syam), Auliya Khasanofa (Muhammadiyah), and Thobib Al- Asyhar (Ministry of Religion).
