Trump's campaign funds for political advertising is revealed by Facebook

News24xx.com - President of the United States, Donald Trump became the largest political advertiser on Facebook. Trump and his team spent more than USD 274 thousand (equivalent to IDR 3.9 billion) to advertise on social networking since early May.

Trump's amount of funds goes beyond the second largest advertiser, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, a non-profit organization providing reproductive health care services.

Planned Parenthood spent USD 188 thousand (approximately USD 2.7 billion) to put an ad on Facebook in the same period as Trump.The ads that Trump and his team put on Facebook are also the most viewed ads by Facebook users.

A total of 37 million people since May saw the political advertisement of the 45th President of the United States. Followed in the second is Planned Parenthood advertisement, seen by 24 million people.

The findings are poured in a new study by a group of researchers from New York University, who use Facebook as data to get results on who is the biggest political advertiser on social networking, and how many advertisers spend money on advertising on the internet.

"Overall, we are appreciating Facebook's efforts to increase the political ad's transparency on its platform and we hope Facebook can continue to improve its efforts" explained one of the researchers.

Facebook was also responding to the research they did. Rob Leathern, Director of Facebook Production Management, reveals that the results of a study conducted by researchers from New York University is exactly what Facebook is expected to become one of the transparent advertising tools.
