Athlete village, the accommodation for Asian Games athletes that look like three-star hotel

News24xx.com - Athlete Village in Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) is known to be where the athletes that will compete in Asian Games will stay. Other as a resting place, this Athlete Village also becomes the place for sport events like SEA Games in 2011. The place is said to have the facilities like three-star hotel. 

There are not many changes to the Village. It was renovated to be able to accommodate more people and there are also decorations of Asian Games added as well. The entrance is made to look more cheerful with colorful painting. At the back, there is a mosque next to Sport Science Center.

“If compared to a hotel, we are like three-star hotel without a swimming pool,” said the housekeeping supervisor of Athlete Village, Hadi Wijaya.

The athletes from other countries will stay in three places, which are Athlete Village, Rusunawa and Rusunami Centra Land. While Athlete Village looks more like a homestead with three main buildings, Rusunawa and Rusunami Centra Land look more like apartments with seven towers which are equipped with elevators. From these 10 buildings, there are 1076 rooms which can accommodate three people. In total, it can contain 3.228 athletes.

Each room in Athlete Village has three beds, each with a pillow and a blanket. It also has 1 bathroom, 3 wardrobes and an air conditioner. For the food, Hadi said that they will serve European, Asian and Indonesian traditional foods.

“From 05:30 to 00:00, there will be foods. Breakfast from 05:30 to 10:00, lunch from 11:30 to 15:00. After lunch, there will be coffee break and snack. Dinner starts at 18:00 to 22:00, after that there will be another coffee break and snack,” Hadi said.
