A new sidewalk for A new sidewalk for "zombie-pedestrians" with smartphones in China!

News24xx.com - To the bicycle paths now added a path for "zombie pedestrians".

In the city Xi'an in Shaanxi Province in the north of China, local authorities installed a special road on one of the sidewalks for those who walk down the street, looking at the screen of their smartphone.

The local newspaper writes that the new track is painted red, green and blue. The width of the track is 80 centimeters, the length is 100 meters. It also draws images of smartphones, so that it was immediately clear to everyone that this is not an ordinary sidewalk.

The local shopping center, the doors of which open onto this street, have long asked the local authorities to set up a special track for zombie-pedestrians, who are so busy with their smartphones that they pay no attention to other pedestrians or street traffic.

Representatives of the shopping center say that cars often stop by on this sidewalk, and that it was necessary to demonstrate to drivers that there is a special zone here.

According to the city media, local residents are happy with the innovation. Young people now walk fast and all the time looking into the phones. So now everyone will become calmer, especially those who look at their phone. It's like protection.

The sidewalk in this part of Xian differs from the roadway only by the color of the asphalt. However, users of the microblogging network Sina Weibo react to this news with some surprise. Some people think that now users of this track will simply collide with each other.

This is not the first such experiment in the world.

In February 2017, the authorities of the Dutch town Bodegraven built "traffic lights" on the sidewalks at three crossroads near local schools, so that people looking at the smartphone could notice red or green light.

In 2016 in Austria were made any calls to prohibit pedestrians from using smartphones on the go, but so far this world hasn’t yet been adopted.
