News24xx.com - Four years ago she was excluded from Asian Games because of the controversy surrounding her sex, now Indian runner, Dutee Chand is ready to catch up and prove herself in Indonesia.

Hyperandrogenemia can kill the career of a female athlete. Not because of her appearance, but because of gender disguised by hormonal abnormalities. A similar fate was experienced by South African runner, Caster Semenya and Dutee Chand from India. Chand, who will make her delayed debut in Indonesia, also had a match ban due to her condition.

Now the 22-year-old woman is ready to prove herself at 2018 Asian Games. She is eager to sharpen India's record for a 100m distance run that she has carved herself. "I am very happy. I missed 2014 Asian Games because of Hyperandrogenemia. So now is the time for me to prove myself" she said.

Chand's journey was not easy. She was born in a poor region of India and kept psychological trauma because she was once forced to pass a sex test while still a teenager. In 2014 she was diagnosed with hyperandrogenemia, Chand was banned from competing by the International Athletics Federation (IAAF). After her appeal was won by Sports Arbitration Court, she was finally able to compete in 2018 Asian Games.

"I do not consume drugs or the like. Everything is natural. The human body is different. Natural hormones cannot be reduced or added" Chand said while adding that she had been under great pressure for the past four years. "I can't concentrate on the training program."
