German plummets into 16th position while France tops the FIFA world ranking

News24xx.com - FIFA officially released a new ranking, on Thursday, August 16th 2018, with Indonesia's position remain still. France, the 2018 world champion topped the FIFA rankings. Quoted from the official FIFA website, Indonesia remains in the 164th position in the latest rankings. Indonesia has 992 points and is ahead of a number of Southeast Asian countries such as Cambodia (166), Singapore (169), Malaysia (171) and Laos (178).

Vietnam is the Southeast Asian country with the best ranking and is in position 102. Vietnam is superior to the Philippines (115), Thailand (122) and Myanmar (138).

France rose six places to the top of FIFA rankings with a score of 1,726 points. France were ahead of Belgium in second place with 1,723 points. This is the first time France has topped the FIFA rankings since May 2002.

Brazil dropped one place to third, ahead of Croatia and Uruguay. England climbed six places to sixth, ahead of Portugal, who dropped three places. Four countries that managed to penetrate the top ten positions were Croatia (4), Uruguay (5), England (6), and Denmark (9). While the countries that were thrown out of the top ten positions were Argentina, Chile, Germany and Poland.

Germany, which was at the top of FIFA rankings, dropped to 15th after appearing poorly in the 2018 World Cup. Germany are now under Argentina, Chile, Sweden and Colombia.
