This woman ignores his doctor suggestion to abort her twin baby that she is carrying

News24xx.com - A 67-year-old Chinese woman ignored his doctors' advice for abortion after it was discovered that she was pregnant with twins. Reported by The Beijing News on Wednesday, August 8th 2018, the woman with surnamed Zhang was determined to continue her pregnancy because she had lost her only son in a car accident four years ago.

At this age, Zhang will be the oldest woman in the world who gives birth to a child. She had been warned that childbirth at her age is very risky. Especially asides of carrying twins, Zhang also suffered from high blood pressure.

Zhang admitted that she and his husband longed for the presence of a child, after her son died in a car accident at the age of 34 in 2014. "I have not been able to sleep without taking medicine for several years. I used to dream of educating my son's children, but that dream must be forgotten (after the accident)" she told Beijing News.

When her son was born in 1980, the Chinese government still adopted a one-child policy. The policy to suppress births in China was only revoked in 2015. Zhang said that after her only son died, she and her husband tried to adopt a child. However, the request for adoption was rejected because of their age.

Last year, Zhang and her husband decided to undergo IVF and found a hospital in Taiwan that was willing to perform the procedure, which was carried out in June this year.

After Zhang returned from Taiwan, she intended to undergo a prenatal check-up at the Baodao Healthcare maternity hospital in Beijing. However, the hospital did not dare to take care of her. Zhang was transferred to Peking University Hospital.
