News24xx.com -  Starbucks coffee network announced it would block access to porn sites on free wifi facilities on all its networks in the United States starting next year.

The company is under pressure from a non-profit organization that is keen to campaign for healthy internet based in Virginia, 'Enough is Enough', to filter access to pornographic sites at all of its stores.

Previously, McDonald's had also changed the wifi - wireless internet network policy - in 2016 after being under equal pressure from the group.

"Although rare, using free wifi at Starbucks to see illegal content or other horrible content, will never be allowed," Starbucks said in a statement reported by BuzzFeed News.

The international company said it had 'found a solution' to stop access to pornography in all of its stores throughout the US in 2019, but did not specify what the solution was like.

Starbuck's decision gave rise to mixed reactions on social media that began to feel confused until those who responded jokingly.

The non-profit agency Enough is Enough has issued a statement earlier in the week condemning the company that did not fulfill the promise to block pornographic content in 2016.

"Starbucks continues to provide unlimited free wifi to its customers, opens the door for customers to view indecent or obscene pornography, view or distribute child pornography (illegal crime) or engage in sexual hunting activities," the statement said.
