CIA announces that it will create its own Instagram account

News24xx.com - As an intelligence institution, CIA is identical to all confidential things. Interestingly, they announced they will create their own Instagram account. CIA Director, Gina Haspel announced this in a forum on national security at Auburn University, United States.

Haspel declassified the plan of the institution she led while discussing recruitment that understood social media and the challenge of trying to be transparent about their activities. "Talking about transparency, of course the CIA has a Twitter account. And our institution is ready to have our own Instagram account" Haspel said as quoted by Mashable, on Tuesday, April 23rd 2019.

Haspel acknowledged that if some people at the CIA don’t want to release too much data. But Haspel assured the public that they will be careful with the data that they will post. "We try to be as open as possible, and protect the secrets we must protect" she said.

As Haspel said, the CIA already has an official Twitter account with 2.5 million followers. But the account seems more intended to recruit new intelligence agents and routinely share content about CIA history and their achievements.
