Do not be fooled, facial expressions cannot be a measure of one's emotion

News24xx.com - Often we try to guess someone's emotions from the facial expressions shown. But, does the expression really indicate the emotion that is being felt?

In a researcher conducted by Aleix Martinez from Ohio State University in the US, researchers analyzed when the movements of muscles in the human face and compared those muscles with someone's emotions.

Then they find ways to detect or define emotions based on a person's facial expressions is almost always wrong.

"Everyone makes different facial expressions based on context and cultural background," Martinez said, reported by Himedik.

Sometimes people smile because of obligations towards social norms. After analyzing data on facial expressions and emotions, the researchers concluded it needed more than just expressions to detect emotions correctly.
