Juventus decided to quarantine Cristiano Ronaldo at his home in Madeira, Portugal after Bianconeri defender Daniel Rugana tested positive for the corona virus.

CR7 greeting Ronaldo was originally scheduled to return to Turin to undergo training with the Juventus squad on Wednesday 11 March 2020. But unfortunately the management of Juventus decided to allow Ronaldo to stay in Madeira following positive Rugani news exposed to the corona virus.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is not training and remains in Madeira waiting for developments related to the current health crisis," the official Juventus statement was quoted as saying by Italian Football.

Ronaldo was allowed to return to Madeira to meet his mother, Maria Dolores Aveiro, who had a stroke. Ronaldo is one of the Juventus players who made direct contact with Rugani in the last few days. Lastly Ronaldo was seen in the same room with Rugani after Juventus defeated Inter Milan in the Italian League on Sunday (8/3).

Initially Ronaldo had received special permission to come and leave Portugal even though the country banned flights from Italy. However, Juventus later decided to allow Ronaldo to remain at Madeira.

Juventus themselves decided to isolate the players after Rugani tested positive for the corona.

A number of Italian clubs have postponed the training program after the Italian League was postponed until an unspecified time. However, Juventus continue to hold training for preparation ahead of Lyon against the Champions League last 16 second leg next week.
