SKK Migas - PT CPI and Riau Provincial Government Synergize to Prevent Covid-19 Distribution

PEKANBARU - As an effort to prevent the spread of Corona Virus Dieases (COVID-19) in Riau Province, SKK Migas - KKKS Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) company synergizes with the Riau Provincial Government by providing assistance in the prevention of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Assistance provided was 1,000 N95 masks that had been submitted to Arifin Ahmad Hospital Pekanbaru on Sunday, March 29, as well as other assistance such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) of 1,000 units for medical personnel in Riau Province, 23 gurney beds for isolation rooms in Kota Dumai, and 3,000 handsanitizers which will be distributed to the community around the operational area which is currently still in the procurement process.

This assistance is one of the efforts of the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry in Riau Province to take part and actively participate with the Government of the Riau Province to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Not only PT CPI, assistance was also provided by other KKKS in Riau Province.

Acting Head of SKK Migas Sumbagut Representative, Haryanto Syafri said that the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry in this case SKK Migas and its partners are committed to helping the Central and Regional Governments to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus both in the work environment or in the area around the KKKS operations through the assistance and support of tools prevention such as masks, handsanitizers and other assistance.

"Of course we hope that the Covid-19 pandemic does not disrupt upstream oil and gas operations as a source of finance in the state budget and regional budget," he said.

SKK Migas Representatives of Sumbagut always encourage KKKS in the Riau Province Region together with the Regional Governments both Provincial and Regency / City to prevent the spread of Covid-19, especially in areas around KKKS operations in Riau Province.

 CPI company Asset GM Corporate Affairs Sukamto Tamrin said that the distribution of SKK Migas - CPI company assistance was largely channeled through coordination with the Task Force for the Handling of COVID-19 in Riau Province. This step aims to ensure that the distribution of aid can be well coordinated and well targeted.

"In addition to assistance from the Company, CPI company also encouraged volunteerism among employees to help the surrounding community through their respective communities," explained Sukamto.

Independent activities carried out at the initiative of  CPI company's employees include the distribution of mask assistance; safety boot; safety glasses; face shield; multivitamins and milk for medical personnel; and groceries and rice wrap for people affected by their livelihoods. ****
